Do you operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) or a fleet of CMVs regulated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)? If so, are you familiar with their DataQ System?

The system allows users to request and track a review of Federal and State data issued by the FMCSA that is believed to be incomplete or incorrect. is your chance to learn from the in-state expert on how to be selective and successful with your submissions!

First Sergeant and Master Trooper Hans Schmidt, ISP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, will review the system and provide best practices and procedures for submitting successful DataQ challenges. He will answer our safety professionals' questions and provide the tools to identify and submit successful challenges. 

Schmidt graduated from Central Noble High School in Albion and served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer. After his service, he attended Indiana University in Fort Wayne. In 1998, Schmidt joined the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division to oversee the school bus inspection program for the Fort Wayne State Police District. In 2003, Schmidt was selected as a new entrant motor carrier safety auditor.  Master Trooper Schmidt also serves as

Investigations Commander and Assistant Field Commander. His duties include Compliance Reviews, New Entrant Safety Audits, DataQs, and Field Enforcement.
